Since 1994, A. N. Hussunally in Kolkata had been undertaking the assembly of Polypropylene Pipe Clamps for high pressure lines under the brand name ALFOMEGA. The components were all outsourced. Joint in-charge of A. N. H., Mr Hasani Vadnagarwala, identified this assembly unit as a new venture in 2003, named A. N. H. Hydraulics Pvt. Ltd., to be later known as Variety Plastics. In 2007, A. N. H. started manufacturing top and bottom plates for these pipe clamps at its factory in Liluah (Howrah). In the same year, a small 200 sq. ft. room was set up at Sidhpur in Gujarat to produce PP refills for the Pipe Clamps. Injection moulding machines and dies needed for this operation were designed and manufactured by Mr Hunaid Vadnagarwala at Liluah, and sent to Sidhpur. Hasani’s motive for setting up this unit in Sidhpur was to create jobs, uplift the denizens, and thus give back to his hometown. In 2015, the unit shifted to a 2,500 sq. ft. factory - Variety Plastics - in the industrial area of Sidhpur to accommodate more injection moulding machines, thus enabling full-scale production of PP refills. Variety Industrial Products (VIP) was established in 2016, at a small shed beside the factory in Sidhpur, and has since taken over the production of top and bottom plates. Variety Plastics now sources all its components locally and distributes the assembled products directly from Sidhpur.
